NON-IMMIGRANT VISA Category "O" (Other)

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom for the following purposes:

(Purpose 1) to perform duty or mission in the family of an alien who enters to stay temporarily in Thailand in accordance with Section 34 (1) (2) (5) (6) (7) (10) (11) (12) (13) and (14) of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979) as the parents, spouse or child under patronage or being a part of the household of the said person or being a private servant under Section 15 (7)

(Purpose 2) to provide or receive support from the person whose nationality is Thai or the alien who has been granted and has taken up permanent residence in Thailand as the parents, spouse or child under patronage and being a part of the household of the said person

(Purpose 3) to perform volunteering duties for the state enterprise, social welfare organizations, NGO, or other non-profit organisations/foundations/associations

(Purpose 4) to stay in Thailand after retirement for the elderly (at least 50 years of age) 

(Purpose 5) A person who used to have Thai nationality and wish to visit Thai relatives or to return to live in Thailand

(Purpose 6) to receive medical treatment for more than 60 days

(Purpose 7) to be a sport trainer as required by the Thai Government

(Purpose 8) to be a contestant or a witness for the judicial process


1. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS - Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Visa application form completely filled out
  • Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months. The validity of 18 months is required for one year visa application
  • Recent passport-sized photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm) of the applicant taken within the past 6 months
  • Evidence of adequate finance
  • Health insurance covering medical expenses in Thailand including a minimum coverage of 100,000 USD for COVID-19 (must be specifically mentioned)
  • Specific documents based on the purpose of visit:
    • Note Verbal and/or documents issued by the foreign government or international organization, certifying the identity of the person concerned and his/her purposes while residing in the Kingdom (Purpose 1)
    • Birth Certificate, Certificate of Marriage or its equivalents (Purpose 2)
    • Official letter certifying the purpose of travel from the organisation (Purpose 3 and 8)
    • the organisation's registration certificate (Purpose 3)
    • A Copy of Thai ID card or passport of head of the organization. (A copy of work permit if the head of NGO organization is a foreigner.) (Purpose 3)
    • A prove of retirement / early retirement (Purpose 4)
    • An original health insurance policy which covers the length of stay in Thailand with no less than 40,000 THB coverage for outpatient treatment and no less than 400,000 THB for inpatient treatment. (must be specifically mentioned) Applicant may consider buying a Thai health insurance online at (Purpose 4)
    • A document to prove that you used to have Thai nationality (Purpose 5)
    • Letter from the hospital in Thailand, medical record, medical certificate (Purpose 6)
      • An applicant must contact a medical facility in Thailand enlisted in the “List of AHQ (Alternative Hospital Quarantine)” approved by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH).
      • The medical facility will contact the MOPH (Health Service Support Department) for consideration and approval.
      • Once approved, the applicant will receive necessary documents from the medical facility for applying for a visa and a COE.)
    • Letter of invitation stating the applicant's participation in sport activities in Thailand (Purpose 7)

NB.: - Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary.
NB.: - Copies of company documents must be signed by Board of Directors and affixed the seal of the company.
NB.: - In the absence of a required document, a letter explaining the unavailability of such document must be provided.           

2. VISA FEE (Visa fee may be changed without prior notice.)

  • 70 EUR. for single entry
  • 175 EUR. for multiple entries 


  • Single-entry visa is valid for three months from the date of issuance.
  • Multiple-entry visa is valid for three months up to one year from the date of issuance.


Holders of this type of visa will be, upon their entry into Thailand, initially granted a period of stay in Thailand NOT exceeding 90 days unless otherwise instructed by the Office of Immigration Bureau.


Qualified persons can obtain an additional one year stay permit counting from the date of entry into the Kingdom pertaining to the Office of the Immigration Bureau's regulations on extension of stay. The extension of stay is at the discretion of the immigration officer.
