* For those who travel with pets and seek to pass them through Thailand, everything can be done at the port of entry by having these following required documents ready before arrival:

Step 1  Request an import permit by email to Animal Quarantine Station (AQS) with the following documentation (not less than 7 working days)

• Form R1/1 from Thai Department of Livestock Development (ร.1/1) Download here
• Copy of passenger’s passport
• Pet’s photo
• Flight itinerary
• Vaccination record (must be in English)
• Microchip certificate

Step 2  Veterinary officer review the documents and Issuing an import permit

– At least 3 working days
– If additional information is required, the officer will contact you by email

Step 3  Approved import permit will be sent by Email

– The certificate for dogs and cats is valid for 10 days after endorsement
– The certificate for small animals is valid for 30 days after endorsement

Step 4  Contact the AQS in exporting country for Official Health certificate

★ Preparing your documents before departure:
– Original pet’s passport (legalized by Ministrie van Buitenlandse Zaken and then legalized by Royal Thai Embassy)
– Original vaccination book (legalized by Ministrie van Buitenlandse Zaken and then legalized by Royal Thai Embassy)
– A print out of the Import Permit
– Certificate of blood test against rabies (optional)

Step 5  Upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi airport contact AQS for Veterinary Inspection

– A Notice of Import Approval (Form R-6) and Import License (Form R-7) will be issued.
– Pet entry fees (in cash) 500 THB per animal.

Remarks:

1. Pets must be at least 4 months old to be able to import into Thailand.
2. As long as pets don’t show any sign of illness, they would not be quarantined.

**However, a quarantine officer has the discretionary authority to detain in a quarantine station any pets/animals seeking to pass through Thailand**
