ความพยายามของไทยในการแก้ไขปัญหาการทำประมงผิดกฎหมาย  

1. พระราชบัญญัติการประมง พ.ศ. 2558

พระราชบัญญัติการประมง พ.ศ. 2558 ซึ่งปรับปรุงแก้ไขจาก พ.ร.บ. การประมงฉบับเดิม ประกาศ

ในราชกิจจานุเบกษาเมื่อวันที่ 28 เมษายน 2558 และมีผลใช้บังคับตั้งแต่วันที่ 27 มิถุนายน 2558 

กฎหมายประมงฉบับใหม่นับเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการแก้ไขปัญหาการทำประมงผิดกฎหมาย ขาดการรายงาน และไร้การควบคุม (illegal, unreported and unregulated:  IUU) ในประเทศไทย โดยพระราชบัญญัติดังกล่าวได้ปรับปรุงเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับการควบคุมดูแลการประมงของเจ้าหน้าที่ เพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับความเป็นจริงในอุตสาหกรรมประมงปัจจุบัน กำหนดกรอบเกี่ยวกับการบริหารจัดการการประมงที่เหมาะสม และปรับปรุงมาตรการของรัฐเจ้าท่าให้สอดคล้องกับมาตรฐานสากล 

2. การจัดตั้งศูนย์บัญชาการแก้ไขปัญหาการทำประมงผิดกฎหมาย (ศปมผ.)

ศูนย์บัญชาการแก้ไขปัญหาการทำประมงผิดกฎหมาย (ศปมผ.) จัดตั้งขึ้นตามคำสั่งหัวหน้าคณะรักษา

ความสงบแห่งชาติ (คสช.) โดย ศปมผ. ขึ้นตรงต่อนายกรัฐมนตรี และเริ่มดำเนินงานมาตั้งแต่วันที่

1 พฤษภาคม 2558 เป็นหน่วยงานหลักและประสานงานกับหน่วยงานอื่น ๆ เพื่อดำเนินความพยายามของรัฐบาลไทยในการแก้ไขปัญหาการทำประมง IUU รวมถึงการจัดทำและปฏิบัติตามแผนปฏิบัติการแห่งชาติ

ในการแก้ไขปัญหาการทำประมงผิดกฎหมาย ขาดการรายงาน และไร้การควบคุม

Thailand's efforts in combating IUU (Illegal Unreported and Unregulated) fishing

1. The New Fisheries Act B.E. 2558 (2015)

The revised Fisheries Act B.E. 2558 (2015) was promulgated in the Royal Thai Government Gazette on 28 April 2015 and entered into force on 27 June 2015

The new legislation is a significant step towards combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in Thailand. The law improves official oversight of Thai fisheries to better reflect current industry realities, establishes a fisheries management scheme and improves port state measures in line with international standards.

2. The Establishment of Command Center for Combating Illegal Fishing (CCIF)

The Command Center for Combating Illegal Fishing (CCCIF) was established by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO). The CCIF, which reports directly to the Prime Minister and has begun its operation since 1 May 2015, is leading and coordinating the Thai government’s efforts in tackling IUU fishing, including the formulation and implementation of the National Plan of Action to Prevent, Deter and Eliminate IUU Fishing (NPOA-IUU)
