ระหว่างวันที่ 25 – 29 พฤศจิกายน 2567 เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมรัฐภาคีอนุสัญญาว่าด้วยการห้ามอาวุธเคมี ครั้งที่ 29 (29th Session of the Conference of the States Parties: CSP-29) และได้กล่าวถ้อยแถลงในนามประเทศไทย โดยย้ำถึงการสนับสนุนอย่างเต็มที่ต่อองค์การห้ามอาวุธเคมี (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons: OPCW) และเน้นย้ำการยึดมั่นในการปฏิบัติตามพันธกรณีของอนุสัญญาห้ามอาวุธเคมี รวมถึงการส่งเสริมความมั่นคงทางเคมีและความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศเพื่อสร้างสันติภาพและความมั่นคงที่ยั่งยืน

ไทยได้เข้าร่วมเป็นรัฐภาคีของอนุสัญญาห้ามอาวุธเคมีเมื่อวันที่ 9 มกราคม 2546 และได้ปฏิบัติตามพันธกรณีของอนุสัญญาอย่างเคร่งครัดโดยตลอด ซึ่งประเทศไทยไม่มียุทโธปกรณ์ทางเคมี และเห็นคุณค่าในการนำวิทยาการทางเคมีไปใช้ในด้านต่าง ๆ เพื่อส่งเสริมการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมอย่างยั่งยืน

 

From 25 to 29 November 2024, Ambassador Asi Mamanee participated in the 29th Session of the Conference of the States Parties (CSP-29) and delivered a statement on behalf of Thailand, reaffirming full support for the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). The statement emphasised Thailand’s commitment to upholding the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), promoting chemical security, and fostering international cooperation for lasting peace and stability.

Thailand became a State Party to the Chemical Weapons Convention on 9 January 2003 and has consistently adhered to its obligations. The country does not possess chemical weapons and recognises the value of using chemical science for the economic and social development benefits.
