Information for non-Thai nationals planning to visit Thailand (during COVID-19 pandemic)

(1) The insurance must mention clearly that travelling to a risk area (travel advice colour code: orange or red as indicated by the Dutch government) does not affect the scope and level of COVID-19 coverage.

(4) All Thai and non-Thai visitors arriving in Thailand on or after 1 May 2021 are required to complete the quarantine period of no less than 14 days. (From 1 May 2021 until further notice)
(5) Fit to fly certificate is no longer required. (From 1 April 2021 until further notice)
During the global COVID-19 pandemic, measures have been enforced to prevent and control COVID-19 from spreading in Thailand. This includes measures to keep an influx of visitors to Thailand in check. Therefore, foreign visitors who need to visit Thailand must comply with the measures. There are 7 steps to take. See details bolow.

|STEP 1 - Check if you fall in one of the eligible groups to enter Thailand.|
GROUP 1 : Non-Thai Spouse, Parents or Children of a Thai Citizen
GROUP 2 : Non-Thai Nationals holding a valid Thai Certificate of Residence and their legal Spouse and Children
GROUP 3 : Non-Thai Nationals holding a valid Work Permit or Permission to work in Thailand and their legal Spouse and Children
GROUP 4 : Non-Thai students of recognised institutions in Thailand as well as their Parents or Legal Guardians EXCLUDING students of non-formal schools as defined in Private Schools or Other Similar Private Institutions Law
GROUP 5 : Non-Thai Nationals in need of medical treatment (except COVID-19) in Thailand, including up to 3 accompanying persons

Remarks - For Group 8, you must be able to present a bank statement with a minimum balance of 15,000 EUR for the last 6 consecutive months.
GROUP 9 : Non-Thai Nationals who wish to visit Thailand for a tourism purpose (for ALL medical treatment related visit, please see to Group 5). You must be able to present a bank statement with adequate funds for your stay in Thailand when applying for a COE.
GROUP 10 : Non-Thai nationals who wish to visit Thailand to spend their retirement (retired or is at least 50 years of age)
GROUP 11 : Non-Thai nationals who wish to visit Thailand for a tourism purpose under the Special Tourist Visa Scheme.
GROUP 12 : Dutch passport (Dutch REISDOCUMENT NOT included) holders who wish to visit Thailand for a tourism purpose under the visa-exemption scheme. You must be able to present a bank statement with adequate funds for your stay in Thailand when applying for a COE.
GROUP 13 : Non-Thai nationals holding a valid work permit for religious / missionary works
GROUP 14 : Non-Thai nationals holding a valid work permit for voluteering works at an NGO or a non-profit organisation/foundation/association in Thailand

|STEP 3 - Apply for the Certificate of Entry (COE), (AFTER you obtain a correct visa)|

*When requesting for a COE, holders of a valid Re-entry Permit (Retirement) who wish to return to Thailand using the Re-entry Permit (Retirement), are required to submit a copy of health insurance policy which covers the length of stay in Thailand with no less than 40,000 THB coverage for out-patient treatment and no less than 400,000 THB for in-patient treatment. Applicant may consider buying a Thai health insurance online at longstay.tgia.org. You may also be asked by the immigration to present the original insurance policy upon your arrival in Thailand.
MEMO: COE Online Application - Steps in Brief
Step 1 - Applicant completes the 1st part - personal information. Applicant will receive 6-digit number (Do note down!) upon successful submission for tracking the application.
Step 2 - Embassy approves/denies the application. (within 3 working days)
Step 3 - Applicant completes the 2nd part - insurance, travelling and quarantine information. (to be completed within 15 days after the approval)
Step 4 - Embassy approves/denies the application, if approved, COE can be downloaded directly from the system.
NB.: - There are 2 sections of of the COE online application process. You need a plane ticket and Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) confirmation for the 2nd section of the application process.
|STEP 4 - Obtain a COVID-19 RT-PCR test result|
|STEP 5 - Download and filled out T.8 form to be submitted upon your arrival|
|STEP 6 - Have all papers printed out and completed where necessary and keep them readily with you|
|STEP 7 - Download 'ThailandPlus' application on your phone and complete the registration|
